This is where we put everything to the test. Healing doesn't end with knowing a more authentic version of you. It continues as you bring that authentic self into connection with others.
Relationships are the fertile ground where you practice honesty, setting boundaries, vulnerability, and mutual care.
This doesn't mean that relationships are effortless and easy.
It means that after years of leaving yourself behind, you no longer have to abandon yourself to feel like you belong.
What is happening
As your relationship with yourself strengthens, your relationships with others begin to change. You're more able to respond in ways that honor your needs rather than reacting from old survival strategies.
How we work together
Whether through relationship therapy, coaching, community circles, or ongoing support, we'll continue integrating what you've discovered into your everyday life and relationships.
Why relationships are where it gets tested
You can become very steady alone. Adaptation is a social reflex, so it only shows up when another person is in the room, and specifically when there is something to lose. That is why the last stage of this work is relational rather than individual.
The test is not whether you can stay calm. It is whether you can stay yourself while somebody you care about is unhappy with you.
What we work on
- Saying a need plainly, without first assembling the case for why you are entitled to it.
- Tolerating someone's disappointment without immediately repairing it at your own expense.
- Noticing the moment you begin managing their feelings instead of having your own.
- Repair after a rupture, including the ruptures nobody names out loud.
- Deciding which relationships are worth this work, which is a legitimate question.
Relationships of every configuration
I work with people who are partnered, unpartnered, monogamous, polyamorous, somewhere between, and with people renegotiating which of those they are. I am queer, ethically non monogamous, kink and sex positive, so you will not spend your first sessions providing background, and your structure will not be treated as the presenting problem unless you say it is.
This work also happens well in groups, where the old pull to perform is live in the room and can be practiced with rather than described.
